Easy to Care:

This tropical native prefers indirect bright light, but it can adapt to low light conditions with slower growth. Direct morning sunlight is acceptable, but avoid afternoon sunlight to prevent leaf burn. Consider using a Grow Light if the ideal location is not available for the plant.

Water: Water when 50% of the soil volume is dry.  Avoid overwatering to prevent issues like leaf tipping.

Soil : Ensure proper drainage and discard any excess water in the saucer.

Humidity:While it can survive in low humidity, it thrives with higher humidity levels. Regularly mist the leaves, use a humidifier nearby, or place a pebble tray to increase humidity.

Temperature:Keep Between 65–75°F. Avoid drafty areas and keep it away from temperatures below 60°F during the winter.

Fertilizer (FOOD): Feed during the spring and summer with a diluted general-purpose houseplant fertilizer. No fertilizer is needed in winter when growth slows naturally.

Toxicity: Moderately toxic to pets and humans. Ingestion can cause mouth and stomach irritation and potential vomiting.

Additional notes:

‘Leaf tipping,’ where the tips of the leaves dry out and turn brown, can be caused by various factors like overwatering, excessive fertilizer, or the use of tap water containing salts, chlorine, and fluoride. Consider using filtered or open-container water for watering. To trim the plant, use clean, sharp Plant Snips.

  •  Commonly known as Chinese Evergreen ‘Osaka’, ‘Spring Snow’, ‘First Diamond’, among other names.
  •  Suitable for low light conditions, making it an excellent houseplant choice.
  •  Not tolerant of freezing temperatures; prefers bright indirect light and well-draining, moist soil.
  •  Beautiful variegated green and white foliage; lance-shaped leaves mostly white with green speckles at edges.
  •  Variegation more pronounced in stronger lighting; protect from strong sunlight to avoid leaf damage.
  •  Uncommon flowers, similar to Peace Lilies, may appear when grown indoors as a houseplant.
